The Japan Open Memory Championship 2018 was held on April 29, 2018, in Tokyo, Japan, bringing together 42 competitors from various countries to showcase their mental prowess across multiple disciplines of memory sports. Among the participants, two young Filipino competitors—Jamyla Domingo Lambunao and Enzo Gabriel L. Castillon—delivered outstanding performances, finishing 6th and 8th overall, respectively.

Competing in both Kids and Junior divisions, the duo earned multiple top positions. Lambunao dominated the Junior category by placing 1st in key events such as Binary Numbers, Random Words, Random Numbers, Historic Dates, Cards, Random Images, Spoken Numbers, and Speed Cards, ultimately securing 1st place overall in the Junior division with 4486 points. Castillon followed closely, consistently placing 2nd across several events and earning 3546 points, ranking 2nd overall in the Junior division.
